SANTA CLAUS VISITS THE HIKE SCHOLARS

On December 12th, the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis provided a great setting for the inaugural HIKE SCHOLARS Christmas party. The HIKE SCHOLARS and their families arrived early and eager to get to celebrate.

Matt kicked the evening off, as we do every month, by recognizing our SCHOLARS who had perfect school attendance during November. We had six SCHOLARS with perfect attendance (a 100% increase over the prior month) and each was provided with a candy cane full of chocolate surprises.

Each SCHOLAR was given their own copy of The Night before Christmas. Matt read the yuletide favorite as all the SCHOLARS gathered around him.

Dinner was a fabulous kid's buffet with just about anything a kid could want including tacos, pizza, French fries and chicken fingers.

Just after dinner, Santa Claus arrived to fulfill each SCHOLAR'S Christmas wish. Santa led the SCHOLARS in the singing of Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer just before he recruited our SCHOLAR PARENTS to help him in making sure that each SCHOLAR got their Christmas wish. The SCHOLARS received gifts like MP3 Players, Nike Air Jordan shoe's, Play Station 2's and even an electric guitar! After each SCHOLAR received their Christmas wish, each SCHOLAR FAMILY was given their very own digital camera and a personally autographed football from Matt.

After all the gifts were opened, the SCHOLARS went into to full play mode until the chefs at the Hyatt unveiled the "Ultimate Sundae Bar"! Before leaving, each SCHOLAR Family had their picture taken with Santa and Matt.

It was truly a Merry Christmas for all and for all a good night!
